Peek – A – Boo Jack
This piece is a reflection on a childhood spent in the hidden world of professional gamblers and card sharps.
A 155-carat quartz crystal has been faceted, and the pavilion of the stone mated to a Jack of Hearts playing card. When viewed straight on, the Jack is invisible. But viewed obliquely, Jack is exposed and dances about the interior of the stone.
The ring is intentionally misshapen, revealing the Dorian Grey reality beneath the shallow glamor associated with the world of gambling.
